In 1908, William Durant called a meeting between management of several automotive companies, including Buick, to discuss the possibility of a merger or holding company. Later that year, the formation of General Motors was announced, with Oldsmobile and Buick serving as the founding members. This 1908 Buick Model 10 Surrey is one of the first cars to be created under the GM umbrella. We understand that platform sharing was vastly less frequent in these early years.
